Session 1: What’s Your Story? workshop

December 1, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The beginning of a story on an old fashioned typewriter

You or someone you know has a compelling story to share that others will greatly appreciate. Have you ever wanted to interview a family member, friend or community leader to capture their story in a video or multimedia format? Tap into the expertise of digiSTORY KC to get the guidance you need to create that compelling story. Enroll in this three-session workshop to be held at the new digiSTORY Academy at 3210 Michigan Avenue, in Kansas City, Missouri. This session is targeted to teens and adults interested in producing a digital story about a person of interest. Your story could be a great treat or gift for the holiday season!

This is session 1 of 4 sessions for the What’s Your Story workshop.  In this session, participants will explore the fundamental elements of a good story. Learners will review examples of effective stories and will see how the digiSTORY KC Story Model can help them structure the story they want to share. Students will start thinking about and discussing the story they want to tell.  With this background understanding, students will go home and gather any photos, videos, and objects they want included in their story.
