Many in Kansas City are starting to recognize that digital storytelling is a growing economic sector in KC. A 2013 study by the Mid-America Regional Council identified that 484 firms that hire employees in digital storytelling positions. That study pointed out that 33,249 employees in the Kansas City metro area are involved in digital storytelling jobs. That number will grow by 15.2 percent by 2022.
